Thirty six young Indian officers departed from Mumbai on a month long trip to Maldives today. The "Indian Army Blue Water Sailing Expedition" is to test the young officers leadership, teamwork, initiative and character. The route will cross over 3,000 nautical miles, stopping at Sri Lanka before sailing to Malé, Maldives. Expedition will be embarked with limited technology to challenge the officers ability to adapt and survive without regular supplies or technological devices on the 36-feet 1970 vintage yacht.
