President Mohamed Nasheed announced that the island nation of Maldives would cut all its carbon emissions by 2020. All United Nations' members were required to submit their carbon promises by January 31st under the recent Copenhagen Accord. Thus far, the Maldivian promise is the strongest of any other country. The Maldive islands are already discussing implementation of wind farms and solar panels to generate power.Joshua Dick - Contributing Writer
